The one that came in to land at about 1:50 appears to be a two-seater. Converted for a second rider or a training variant? Don't believe I've ever seen a two-seat Spitfire. |

Only tv shows get to go in them, due to insurance costs etc its just far to expensive and not going to happen. Or to put it a better way - In the UK it would appear some people are tight bastards. |

There are several airfields and organizations around the US that offer rides in old Warbirds. For the most part they use trainers like the T-6 or similar, but I know of an outfit out of Dallas, Texas, that sales seats on B-25 flights. The same place is supposed to offer P-51 Mustang rides pretty soon. The cost? A cool $2,000 per 20 minutes. |
