No! You have to say "This game WILL be so good!" (Through gritted teath if you have to at the start!)

Focus on the good things, work around the bad and before you know it you'll be a proud card carrying member of CODFA (Cliffs of Dover Fanboi Assoiation) just like me!

Cheers!

This game would be amazing with carriers.

Imagine trying to land a seafire on a carrier in full real settings. Would be a real task and quite a thrill.

I think the best and quickest way forward for this company to create some new excitement is to use the same map but push forward to 1943.

You could introduce the Typhoon and FW-190 and set up lots of cross channel raids and anti-shipping senarios.

Wow, guess I am pretty much a fan boy as well....after being hesitant to buy the game.

Good things for me so far are,

1C seemed to have improved the game in performance and reliability quite a bit.
The game looks pretty, even though it is a sim I do not mind looking at some eyecandy.
Realism in flying and managing the planes has improved imo over IL2 1946.
Fully interactive cockpit, that really takes away of having to map quite a few keys, especially those functions that you only use once or so in flight, like turning on the fuel line. When I just look at the handle turning to open the radiator in a Me109 I can't help but feel good, wierd I know but little things like that give you immersion and bit by bit improved realism as well.

Default Fanboi

Don't tell anyone, but, yeah I'm going down the fanboi road. I have only experienced the game post-June patch and have a reasonable machine. Yes, there is work to do but it is still a pleasure to play. The visual improvement of the cockpit control panel makes full tick flying so much easier than 1946.

Great idea re carrier ops! That would be cool. Maybe after the next installment which I believe is an eastern front campaign.

I agree ..

This is an awesome sim..
There is a lot of work left to do..

But, it is an awesome sim.

If they ever get all the bugs squashed, and get the landscape on par with the cockpits.. Most of us can kiss our waking lives goodbye..

I can imagine this and it would be awsome once the game play is smoother that is I can wait for the extra content just to get the game play fixed

Plus all the Home Modders will take care of us with a Million new campaigns im sure once things get to that point

+1 on the will be good

Yes I can't wait for the naval campaign with carriers . . .

if they went with german and italian carriers in a WW2 what, wow the carnage will ensue online and offline and in the forums.

Actually I can't wait for carrier actions. For Hrumman Smellycats to World War 2 Assault planes with engine scoops that look like a fighter that must not be named.

or how people will whine the zero has immense range or doesn't flame with a single bullet

or how did the japanese get the "bf-109" . . .

Not going to happen anytime soon. For one, they need a solid plan. A solid plan which obviously was missing when going gold. And what about communication? For the last four weeks hardly any.

I agree with your opinion. But... and thats a big but, at the moment this is a royal mess. And should that not change significantly they will never see a cent again from me. None of three mates which own Il2 to 1946 have bought it after seing it at my home.

Before the BoB scenario does not work very well I don't even think about buying any add-on they might want to sell me. Mark my words for further reference.
