Default Blenheim IV

A few observations on the Blenheim IV in CoD

Reference: Air Publication 1530B Pilot Notes, Blenheim IV

1. PARKING BRAKES - According to the reference the Blenheim was fitted with parking brakes - the CoD Blenheim shows the parking brake lock on the control column (its the little vertical spike above the brake lever) but there is no Engage/Disengage Parking Brake or Lock Wheel Brakes option in the Controls menu. Please rectify this as it is very hard to go through the pre-flight warmup and checks without having a means to engage parking brakes.

2. PROPELLER PITCH CONTROLS - The pitch controls (left hand side of cockpit slightly behind the pilot seat are reversed - they should be fully in when set to fine pitch and fully out for full coarse pitch.

3. OIL TEMPERATURE GAUGES - The oil temperate gauges should show 0 degrees before startup - currently they show 21 degrees for port engine and 16 degrees for starboard engine.

4. UNDERCARRIAGE INDICATOR SWITCH - There is no undercarriage indicator switch on the front panel - there should be one near the pitot switch - for switching on the undercarriage indicator lights - which show green for undercarriage locked down and red for undercarriage up on the indicator panel located on the bulkhead to the left of the control column. There is also no electric warning buzzer that sounds when the throttles are moved back more than two thirds while the undercarriage is retracted.

5. ENGINE PERFORMANCE - Comparing the in-game engine performance to the pilot notes, the in-game performance appears is too sensitive to engine damage.

6. FLAPS - The flaps go through their full travel no matter whether using "toggle flaps" or "lower/raise flaps" or having the flaps on a slider. The pilot notes indicate the ability to set the flaps are various degrees. I suggest the Controls menu include a Flaps Neutral option or some other way of moving the flaps to the desired angle (the pilot notes recommend 15 degrees flaps for take off wit full fuel load)

Cheers

Only if the outside air temperature is also 0 degrees. As for the reason why one engine is warmer than the other before startup, unless one engine is in the shade (!), it does seem odd.

The parking brake works as intended when attaching it to a slider.

Would love to see the flaps work as you described them.
