Default PTAB and Sturmoviks

The only Sturmoviks capable of carrying PTAB bombs are on the Type 3 and IL-2M3. These two types were built in late 1943 (at the earliest).

I'm in the process of making a campaign about the Kursk battle and in my readings I have found that the PTAB was first used at Kursk in July 1943. In my understanding, the only Sturmovik type savailable at that time were the single-seaters and the IL-2M-Early. The IL-2M-Late came out in August 1943, I believe, and this is the type that I'm using for the campaign (I know, but I'm only fudging it for just a couple months).

So, I believe that the PTAB should be included on the IL-2Ms, Early and Late types. This would make PTAB-carrying Sturmoviks available for the Kursk time period.
As of right now, I'd have to substitute a Type 3 in order to carry the PTAB.

It seems to me that IL-2 classification suggested by Oleg's team was rather confusing.
If I'm not mistaken, we have in stock game the following:
- 3 series of "1941" and field mod.
- Type 3 and Type 3M.
- M "early" and M "late".
- NS-37 equipped type.
(not including T and I).
But when I look into historical sources I see no such names as "Type 3", "1941 serie X". I can find IL-2M and IL-2M3, but not M "early/late", etc. And total number of modifications was probably less than we have in the game, if we ignore experimental ones.

This is quite important as there would have been a great many of the straight winged il2 serving until destroyed or replaced by arrow winged later models.
Then there is the question of the single seater with 37mm pods.

right. The "arrow-winged" models [IL-2 type 3]didn't reach units until Spring of 1944.
IL-2 type 3 = IL-2_3
IL-2 with NS-37mm guns = IL-2_3M

Dimlee,
I believe the difference between the IL-2M Early & Late models is that the latter has metal wings and the former has wooden wings.
