Default Anti-aliasing is working...to a certain degree

I've been rather amused about so many people saying AA doesn't work in the game since it's been working for me. Maybe it's not working to the fullest but for me it's noticeable. Examples below (AA turned off in CCC but turned on in-game):

no AA

4xAA

I think people are getting confused because they have not told us what type of anti-aliasing the game uses. Its clearly not FSAA / SSAA where the whole scene is rendered at a higher resolution and then scaled down. Its one of the other less-intensive methods.

in all the "aa isn´t working properly"-threads they all are saying that it doesn´t.....working properly. In my case: not above 2xaa. Now we have 4th or the 5th thread about that thing.

The AA has some serious oddities. I thought it wasn't working at all at first, but after swapping to an ATi card (a 6970) I can now get it to work, but only if I use application settings and "edge detect" in the Cat 11.4 CCC. If I use application settings and "standard", it doesn't work properly and only applies AA to some edges but not others.

It is better than nothing but that AA looks pretty rubish tbh. Like 2x or something, most people use 4x-8x and on higher end machines 8x-16x if you can run 16 without lag (better to go for 8x though over say downgrading textures). On BFBC1I use 32x
