Default Modding Question

I want to learn to make my own mods and maps. I am assuming that the GEM editor is going to be my main tool. But what other tools out there should I be trying to learn to create my own thing?

Thanks in advance!

Not many other tools to use aside from maybe notepad or something of the sort for when you want to edit .def and .set for the entities and weapons and stuff for the game. You should go to the DMS forums where there is more info on modding, but all in all there isnt to many other programs besides GEM editor you need to use. Have fun
