I've been using the Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS Software in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit, successfully for over a year.
It seems that one of the recent updates to the .net Framework stops the Cougar Profile Software Launching (HOTAS Config Software) when the computer starts (or manually after the computer has finishes booting) and I get an error; "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000006). Click OK to close the application" I have had the software running perfectly before with the latest RC1 2007 Software, in Vista Service Pack 2 Compatibility Mode and running as Administrator, but for some reason after the .net framework update, the Software wont run. I uninstalled the Thrustmaster Driver and Foxy Software (if you have a Cougar you'll know what that is), but when I tried (after cleaning the registry) to re-install the RC1 2007 Drivers, I get the same "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000006). Click OK to close the application" message, so I couldn't even install the Driver and the stick was unrecognised. Fortunately I managed to do a System restore and the stick shows up in the control panel, so I can use it as a normal Joystick, but the Cougar Drivers wont install. So, can anyone shed any light on this issue as not being able to load any profiles causes real problems and basically, my modded stick is now just a (nice handling) flight-stick. Cheers, MP

Hi Skouras, thanks for the reply. Where do I find out/ how do I find out what Firmware I have? Currently I cannot access the stick other than windows saying it is a HID Game Controller.
The Driver wont install ![]()
