Default 1st person bail out, manual parchute deployment?

You're now in first person when bailing out which is awesome!
I remember someone suggesting it in a thread here, glad they decided to include it!

But what about manual deployment of the parachute?
I think this would be really nice, along with the ability to use track IR when bailing out, and the view stabilizing after a while instead of the player spinning and spinning.

Also, it seems my parachute fails to deploy 3 out of 3 times..

This is exciting and a step in the right direction for even more immersion!

Also, lets not forget wind sound and the sound of the chute deploying.
Don't get me wrong, I love that you decided to include this as quickly as you did, but I'm hoping you'll continue to improve on it.

Things I've noticed after bail out are;
- arms waving as falling (especially if you chose not to wear a paracute)
- dirty face when not wearing oxygen mask
- arm moving to pull rip cord
- looking up to ensure chute deployed
- releasing chute just before landing on water
- covering face when landing in water

All the above & still keeping officers hat on - very British!

There are probably more animations that will be spoted as time goes by.

Also, can you bail out in third person view? I've tried & been unsuccessful.

i like the first person bail out too!
but what happened with the animation we have seen during develpement when a spit pilot opens the canopy walks on the wing and then jumps off it?i mean i didnt see it implemented in the game yet.although i recognized spits with opened canopy after shooting them.

Nice! How does the upper lip look in freefall? Properly stiff, I hope.

i Just Bailed out of the BR20 at low level, my a/c was still flying slow and level'ish and as i watched the other 3 or 4 crew bailing, i seen there arms flailing all over the show...as one by one they hit the deck with no chute!, i tried to get a track of it happening again, but the a/c hits the deck too early

S!

Sometime ago I remember seeing a developer's video of a much more complex animation being posted on here.Unfortunatley it would appear this did'nt make it into the final game.

It showed an RAF pilot getting out of his cockpit and stepping out onto the wing before leaping from his aircraft,it did look good.

I haven't been shot down yet, but first-person bailouts are something I've been hoping for for years. Can't wait to give it a try.

Well, you don´t really think that a pilot who is bailing out of his plane would step on the wing first? He wouldn´t even be able to do this, he would be blown into his tail before he could say the word "Quidditch"...xD

Don't forget to give the pilot a chute in pilot configuration....(see manual).

Most succesful bail, jettison or open canopy/hatch, roll over if possible and hit it..well if ctrl e works that is....got some trouble bailing myself.
