Default The ability to climb into your aircraft before the mission

Ok so its possible to bail out, but will we have the option of walking up to the aircraft and getting in? I found in il2 1946 sometimes the pilot would jump out, run and lie down if you bailed out on the runway before taking off!

I posted about this before, just incase it didn't make an impression, here it is again. This is from Theater of War (a Maddox game) that has some relation to il2 and Clod (textures, and models maybe?) anyhow. I don't claim to be a programmer, but it seems its possible to do in this sim since they both share some similarities. Anyhow here is a video show in what we are talking about only with tanks:

BTW: How do you embed a video anyhow?

Thanks for looking,
Greg

Simply copy and paste the URL from your adress bar.

That said I'm not so sure about this. After all it'd mean walking around etc. - not that I'm against it but it has to be done properly. And it wouldn't be that easy.

If it doesn't have any real gamplay value why add it? You'd need models, proper animations etc and eventually end up at the point of killable pilots on strafes etc.

If it would be done right it could be awesome, I agree. We could hang around on the ground etc.
But people would quickly be overwhelmed by the possibilities and so would the devs. I'm not really seeing a chance of this getting implemented soon.

Every play Battlefield 1942? Nothing like someone stealing your plane and 15 guys running around in a circle on the tarmac doing bunny hops to really create immersion.

An Optional first-person view animation of someone running from the barracks and into their aircraft would be cool.

That's a point (about Battlefiled I mean), but then I think a reasonable request then would perhaps to either start in the aircraft or have that animation, but be able to get out and walk freely around after the mission, that way no one can steal your aircraft and it'd please the full real folks, letting them see the damage done to their plane by walking around it post mission and not having to use external views.

Also of course otherwise you could lock planes to players, so even though you start freely on the ground you can only get in your plane and nobody elses.

I like to be able to at least watch an animation of my pilot jogging to the aircraft and slipping into it

I would much rather have animated hands and feet in the cockpit than an animated pilot getting in the plane and then being invisible inside the plane.
