Luthier, it would be great to have a re-set default key for control assignments like IL2. People (me) sometimes make changes they don't want to keep and can't got back.

If i'm not mistaken, I believe it gets reset to default if you remove or delete the config INI file. I also noticed that steam cloud sync copies your modified profile back if its enabled, i had to un-check steam cloud sync and to get a fresh one recreated, otherwise my settings followed me.

this Cloud Sync business doesn't seem to work at my end... I have it enabled yet none of the config files get updated/ replaced/ modified.
removing the config files and running the steam file verication works though but even then insitu config files aren't replaced/ modified is there something I'm missing?

I believe the cloud sync only kicks in after CoD started and exited. When you exit CoD, you'll see the steam icon change to the usual steam "downloading" icon. this is cloud sync updating your profile on the cloud.
Honestly my impression of steam cloud is its a 100megs of space given to you to save your customizations on steam. When you login on another computer, all your keys are already setup so you dont have to etc. I dont see how steam sync is used to restore your INI files, if anything i believe it should be disabled to restore default files. However this is just my understanding of it, i could very well be wrong. if it helps to reset INI files, I've had success with this order for stuck settings: -ensure only one machine is logged into steam (incase you have it running on multiple machines). - uncheck steam cloud sync for CoD, restart steam and make sure its still un-checked. - start and exit CoD. - remove config files, start and exit CoD for recreating config files and then do a steam verification. - enable cloud sync for CoD Last edited by dash2099; 05-24-2011 at 01:42 AM. |
