hey guys!like some others, i couldnt wait until the release in my country.so i bought the russian version.everything is fine with it,and i even have it in my motherongue.
but i want a physical copy of it,and tomorrow it will be available here in austria in the stores.besides, i dont want to search for a new maddox.dll file after a patch, every time,to have the game in my language again.so i want to install the european version on my rig. but how do i do this correctly, without having problems with my steam account and the product key.i dont want to mess things up. i bought the russian version simply to play earlier.now i want to switch to the european. anyone already did install a european version after the russian successfully? |

Create a new Steam account, you can create one with a new username but keep your current email. It will warn you that you already have an account for that email but it will work. Now install and activate your European IL2 under the new username.
I did this and it works perfectly. |

ok but why should i use the same email??because i already created another steam account, but with another email address.
furthermore, did you uninstall any folder like the 1c one, before the installation of the european version?or does the installation create another 1c folder automatically,or will it be overwritten? Last edited by David198502; 04-13-2011 at 12:43 PM. |

I have two Steam accounts with different e-mails, secured verified.
I have the collectors edition of my region and the Russian version bough through Yuplay.ru The procedure is easy, the Russian game is installed in first place in my second Steam account, dedicated to Russian version, it is a usual Steam account without regional changes and in English language. Once is installed and the game is working in all his goodness ![]() Dont use the disk, just validate the product key using Activate a Product on Steam, then Steam will proceed to download the game. But Steam will not download the entire game, just the language files of your region, this is the usual procedure to dont waste HDD space downloading a game that is already in the HDD. So we´ll end with the Russian version files of the game but the game patched to English ![]() Now if you start the second account (Russian version), which have English language selected in Steam, the game will use English ![]() Last edited by Buchon; 04-13-2011 at 04:54 PM. |

I'll tell you what i did :
I uninstalled the russian version via steam I uninstalled steam I cleaned the steam(Valve) registry Rebooted(Dont know if i had to) Installed the new english version(DVD with product key) created a new steam account(new password, new e-mail) Played the game(updated to the 954 version) {{I hate STEAM,and i hate the fact that i've waited for so long to buy 3(!!) times (long story) an unfinished game with no force feedback!!!!!!}} Last edited by dgeorge04; 04-14-2011 at 09:35 AM. |
