Default 1C eviler than Ubi? DRM

It seems the DRM between the two games is somewhat similar, limited activations. But the Ubisoft method seems far more kind.

With both you get 3 activations.

The the russian version gives you 10 deactivations, i decided to reinstall the game so have lost one already.

With ubisoft you get no deactivations, but you can uninstall and reinstall on the same computer without losing any activations other than from the initial install, you will then gain back 1 activation (if you need one) each month.

In the long run this means with the 1C russian version i may have to request more activations, with the ubisoft one, simply sitting on your arse will get them replenished, but there is also the option of requesting more if need be.

It seems (unless you have a lot of trouble initially) at lost less hassle with the Ubi version, and i thought Oleg said how he does not like DRM.

If maybe i'm a bit wrong with the russian version (i hope i am) i'd like to be put right.

I don't think the word "evil" applies here. Protecting sales from piracy is not a bad thing.

I only means you can have a maximum of 3 SIMULTANEOUS installations. If you uninstall it, you won't run out of activations.

Wait I might be wrong.

Nothing is protecting sales from piracy. All DRM does is inconvenience paying customers. The pirates usually have an easier time of it.

Happens with gaming as much as it happens with the software in my day-to-day work industry.

Doesn't mean you will be able to network these 3 installations.
Checking for duplicate copies is common in game's LAN interactions.

If you purchase through STEAM then I believe you can delete and reinstall the game many many times.. Please correct me if I am wrong.
