Default Interesting (short) review of CoD on a High-End system....oh dear :(

Look at the guys system spec!

Intel i7-920 clocked at 4.0GHz
Asus P6X58D-E Motherboard
12GB DDR3 1800 MHz RAM
2X HD6970 2GB (Crossfire gives negative scaling so it is disabled for CoD) 11.4 Drivers
Windows 7 Pro X64
Asus DX Soundcard
3X 1920x1080 Monitors in Eyefinity

I would point out later that later Devastat tested with the Epilepsy Filter "Off" and his report was;

"Yep I am positive now, the anti-epilepsy filter is definitely gone from my IL-2 the performance is so good. Now there is still a lot of tweaking needed to be done for sure, but now I am starting to believing in this project, the experience of playing this game is totally unique."

Crossing my fingers for optimisation and bug-fixes before Western release but if the Epilepsy Filter is non-switchable in the Europe and West release it could be a really horrible time!

Cheers, MP

From my understanding the filter is there until they fix the epilepsy problem. Once they have fixed the flashing stuff then the filter will be removed. Well I hope this is the case as I do not see them keeping this terrible system in place for the life of the game.

This is indeed what Luthier said...They have NO choice...Otherwiswe, the Russian version would be the only actual playable version...UBI would lose much of its market...Part of the "release delays" we see worldwide was to give a little time to release a temporary patch to make the game a little bit better performances...But in the end , I am very confident it will be very good...

Salute !

Luthier: Anti-epilepsy will once and forever banished from the Russian version of the game . This adds up to 10 fps on older machines. You now can manually disable the filter - the instructions were given repeatedly.

@Mysticpuma you are quoting my line and referring to review by 2005AD who has different specs than me, we are two different persons

Re-credited your quote. What are your system specs?

Cheers, MP

i7 920, 12gb ram 1600mhz, Ati Radion HD 5850, Gigabyte EX58-UD5

However I believe that the problems in the current version of the game goes beyond hardware issues, they are problems within the game itself.

It seems like there's a major memory handling issue in the game itself right now judging by the "hitching" I see on a lot of the videos. It's pretty typical in games that need to dynamically load objects/textures from the hard drive.

Obviously a lot of good systems out there running modest settings are still having this issue, and Ilya mentioned a major patch in the next week or two so I'll bet this will be high on the list.

Meantime, I think it will be quite playable while we wait with some restrictions on certain graphic option combinations and/or staying away from cities.

Hopefully they get a good chunk done before the Euro release for the sake of reviews.

So, all that needs to be done is take out the flashes in a war type simulation. Seriously!?
