There's a whole series of these docus called wings of russia available on youtube that deal with aircraft from WWI up to modern day aircraft. Some really great footage in most of them.

I love the way some russian expressions have been translated directly into english, sometimes the meaning only becomes clear by context.

I've seen episodes 1/18 - 5/18 and currently I'm watching 6/18.

Yeah, I'm amazed at the depth of historical information that is available now, it's so much more real than reading a book, or looking at photos, and trying to piece it all together.
I'm sure one or two people involved with the creation of this show have a copy of Il2 somewhere.
