I purchased Men of War: Gold Edition via Steam yesterday.
When I boot up the game, I go through the opening titles and publisher credits, then my monitor goes black and displays a "Frequency out of Range" message. I am unable to do anything from this point except hard reboot my PC. I am running a NVidia 8800 GT with the latest drivers. I even tried rolling the drivers back to see if this solved the problem - but it didn't work. My native resolution is 1440 x 900 with a refresh rate of 60. I have tried reducing my screen resolution and changing the refresh rate - but it didn't work. I have tried launching the game using the '-window' command from Steam itself - but it didn't work. I am especially confused as I purchased the game after downloading and playing the demo. The demo ran just fine! So I do not understand why I am getting this error with the full game. ![]() I would really appreciate any advice! |

Hey Cromwell,
Your monitor is clearly stating the computer is broadcasting a resolution it can't handle. Now I'm no expert with this engine or something, but you could try and check out: C:\Documents and Settings\<YOURUSERNAME>\My Documents\My Games\men of war\profiles\player\options.set Open the file with notepad, the first four lines of this configuration file should be: Code:
{options {video {resolution {mode desktop} } Following lines should be: Code:
{antialiasing none} {vertical_sync 0} {detail detail_high} {shadow cross_filter_shadowmap} Good luck! Last edited by GemCollins; 10-14-2010 at 03:34 PM. |
