hadnt seen this new game engine before, tx for posting it

some observations:
- the rock surfaces on the mountain scenery dont look very good in that video, the texturing used and their color of grey doesnt convey the real impression of being there. the colour green for the mountain grass area's is also to fluro
- trees seem static and dont move in the wind (but trees look good, and seem to not affect fpsec when seeing extensive area's of trees and forest going to the horizon)
- there is no real grass
- vehicles seem to have a moving suspension, but tires dont show compression changes (unless they are military vehicles with solid rubber tires ?)

looks good overall, and nice integration of 1e person vehicle driving and aircraft sim, but it seems to have its limitations

AMAZING, living in the Swiss Alps, I must say that this render engine gives a really good and accurate description of a mountain landscape.
I also really like how the forests are shown, the trees are perfectly placed, in a realistic way (just hope that the trees in BoB will be placed as well).
Colors are also quite right, at last for the country where I live.

I think the main advantage of this is that it's global so you can literally go anywhere. I like the idea of it. It's a bit of a trade of size for realism, but it still looks pretty good and it would be nice to just fly around in I imagine.

I ditto the above, although Zap has made some good points; the absence of grass for one.

however, the trees look awesome; especially the way they seemlessly change from small objects to larger ones as the plane gets nearer.

Let's think of something though; even if SoW isn't as good as this (or doesn't look as good from such a great height) with 3rd party applications this could change in the future. Look at what some groups have done for fsx. Some of the additions have been awesome for sims like that, and the samecould be true for SoW.
