Default Somethings off

Seems pretty muted online at the moment. Not a severe lack of players but it feels muted. I see lot of freinds playing MAG. Hope this not death knell for il2!

I agree, it does seem a lot quieter these days. Some will no doubt drift to MAG and Mass Effect as they have done with MW2.

My excuse is Celeb big bro... Thankfully it's the final tonight. It's been getting in the way coz I'm limited to about an hour or so of PS3 and I end up on Moron Warfare 2 coz it's quick.. If I have one gripe about IL-2 it's the lack of a 15 min game.. 10's too short and 20 means I only get about 2 games in.

I had a few matches but it was all bit dull. I ended up switching to a Yak in CTA to try get some unlocks. That was a waste of time. That Yak is like a flying coffin.
Found a decent sized dogfight and got singled out by some guy which took the fun out of that as I had to deal with him. Maybe some vodka will improve matters!

Nothing wrong with the Yak1B, just ask Soviet Ace he'll agree with me

Anyway just wait until Gran Turismo comes out. Thats when IL-2 on PS3 will grind to a halt online with ZERO people playing.

Well I hope there will still be a core of us still playing BOP. I was looking at that mag game today and it's online only. Call me old fashioned but I like a single player campain in all my games unless they cheap ps store ones like Warhawk. I made fatal error of buying Supercar Challenge in sales the other day so I am taking that to town to trade tomorrow. Might see if mag cheaper anywhere

I had the complete opposite experience last night. I hadn't played in about two months cause it was pretty rare to get even three people in a dogfight but I fired the game up last night and was pleasantly surprised to have 5-8 people in 8 straight games.

We'll see about gran turismo. I am a huge fan, or I should say was. I got hooked on 3 and couldn't wait for 4. What a disappointment. It was 3, just bigger. A LOT bigger. 24 hr races? BS. Over 500 cars? Mind boggling. I downloaded the rescent time trial and played it for about an hour. BORRRRRING!!!!!! It was the same all over again.

Huge games are usually a groundbreaking experience. I have a feeling 5 will not be one of those. The newest thing it will bring will be online play. I bet you a dollar it will be bumper car city. More of a derby than a race. A bunch of bitching adults versus spoiled, foulmouthed teenagers.

The hype may very well outdo the real thing. We'll wait and see. But I'm not planning on buying it.

As for BOP, I play with basically the same guys during the day (Europeans) and at night (Americans). I've been wondering myself that if it weren't for a small contigent of players, if the game would be active online at all. Sim by the way.
