Game won't start

So, I bought this game almost when it came out, and played loads of it.
Now, I want to try it today - and it won't run.
I try updating. Won't run.
I try reinstalling. Won't run.

When I try and start it, the screen simply flashes black, and then goes straight back to windows desktop.

running windows vista 64

And you played on what system before? I think game does not support x64 system

I have the same exact problem occurring but I am running on Windows XP. The game did run on the system, I got a new monitor, and now it does not. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tested Active X but to no avail. Any ideas on this yet?

im having the same problem, and when i go into the dvd and attempt to directly activate the kb.exe file after installation and even reboot, it pops up that it can't find the file ldaide.dll (this is from memory, but i think i have the name right). is there a patch or something that we can get this file from?

and im running vista 32bit

i hope the file references help, and i had also just had to wipe my computer and re-install the os, non related problem though i think.

Maybe you got message about luaide.dll? If yes, then you need to reinstall the game. More info about such problem here: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=6800

this is what happens, and it still gives me that file name (you were right its luaide.dll) even after the uninstall and re-install process.

It is very strange, as this file should be installed with the game. It seems that you have broken distributive of KB. Please check your PM.

i tried the patch on the kb legends website, and now im dealing with the disk not being recognized, i'll attempt that fix and then we'll see

i found my problem i think, when i reinstalled the os it upgraded the video driver to 10.0 and now im trying to figure out how to downgrade it.
