Default BOP Servers down?

Hey everyone,

as I'm new to the game (just got it yesterday), I wanted to try my luck with a quick online match (XBL).
But, as I was looking for a game, it kept telling me that the servers were down and that I should try finding a game again later?
I tried both ranked and player matches, without any filters. It cannot be my connection, as other games work just fine.
Any ideas?

If someone wants to play a casual game (preferrably Realistic mode, but I am going to play Sim later, when I get better ), just add me: TempestAE. (GMT +1)

Looking forward to some great matches, love the game already!

Cheers,
Tempest

The servers aren't down, there just aren't any games being hosted at that time. The amount of people playing this online is pitifull though thanks to lack of a patch and poor online set up. Your only likely to ever play this game with the same handfull of players everytime. I'll refrain from mentioning anything further regarding the patch as no doubt one of the wannabe mods will be all over me. I've never seen a forum with so many of them

The servers are fine. It's just the retarded lobby system. If your surprised by the stupidity, you must be new. (No disrespect to you)

Hmm, true, that is really disappointing.
Anyhow, I'll start adding some people for online play as soon as I played through the Campaign and gathered some experience on realism/sim mode.

Thanks for the quick answers anyway! And fingers crossed for the 360-patch coming soon! I hate relying on pressing the right stick to enter free look...

Cheers!

Switch to aviator layout for the controller, especially when you move to sim mode

[I presume the XBox has this option too?]

Hi,

I'll add you as soon as I get the chance.
I've been trying to set up a MP match since I bought the game, but did not manage yet.

GT = LGorrit

Unfortunatly, it does not You can only get the av8r layout when you have the stick plugged in, and it doesnt tell what the controls are. I was gunna make a thread but its a waste and i can ask it here. What's the trim button for sim mode? and what does RT or probably R2 on ps3 do?

Yeah, I was looking at posting the same question here myself and I would agree with what someone else posted above; it is a retarded lobby system - What kind of message is "The Servers are Down" when really it should say "There are no games in progress, start your own!"

Yeah, that's true.
But if you add some people on your list and start a match with them it is actually quite funny! Did the same with LGorrit today and worked like a charme. The game is awesome in MP (although I do suck in Simulation mode...)
