Default Different Settings for Different Birds?

A lot of you folks seem to be very adept at switching from one plane to another quickly. Do y'all normally keep the same "one size fits all" set up for the controls or do you change them from plane to plane? Those of you who do change the control settings, is there a fast and easy way to change them while online or do you have to exit the match and go to the options menu every time? I been wondering about this since many planes (at least with me driving) require the sensitvity turned way down (Spit, FW) while others work best with them cranked up to max (109-G, LA-7). How do y'all work it?

With the 109s and the LAs I usually only take two notches off the elevator sensitivity. I can only fly Spitfires with the elevators at three/four notches from the bottom.

There's no fast and easy way to change the settings. For some reason you can't go to the options menu after you've been shot down/crash, and have to wait until you have respawned again before you can go in and change things. Which is just ass-backwards.

Yeah, that's kinda what I found. If I need to change settings during an online match I have to try and fly the airplane at the same time, it would be nice if there was at least some sort of pause button. Just wondering if anyone knows another way to do it....

i change it depending on the plane to try and get the most agility out of a plane without stalling (i once forgot to do this and flew a yak 9t in multiplayer with pre patch p51 settings and couldnt understand why it was so terible)

Hi Guys

Done the same thing several times and needed to adjust the settings during combat. There is no easy way to do this, but I just have to wonder of some were to "hide", going low and off the battlefield or something. Hit the start button - Options - adjust settings and return to the game.
This never takes more then 3 or 4 seconds to do.

yes, I do it at the very beginning of each match, it should not take more than 10 seconds and at the altitude that online matches begin and distance between the online players, you are very much safe from crashing into the ground or being shot down.

Sensibility settings for realistic may be different from those of simulation mode because of the absence of flaps.

Based on my own experience and what others have said I always use these settings:

ailerons: always full on every plane. Rolling is part of turning, the faster the better.

elevators:

la5: full
la7: 2 notches below max
yaks: 3 1/2 below max
109e/f: 4 below max
heavier 109's: 5 or 6 below max
spitfires: 6 below max
sturmoviks: 5 below max
fw190: 5 or 6 below
hurricane: don't know, about 6 I guess

By heavier 109's, do you mean the G-6/K-4? I always fly those two notches down from the top and it never stalls.

That is the one thing that I would have liked to have seen patched more than anything else as it is so irritating at times. Settings for each plane and difficulty level stored or preferrably:- options menu in the lobby.
