Default Worst WW2 aircraft flown in any simulator game.

I had a thought about all the various aircraft I've flown in numerous WW2 simulator games, from fighters to bombers, and started considering some of the bad ones.

Top of my list is the Curtis SB2-C Helldiver, which makes the lumbering Douglas Devestator look agile, by comparison..... I've actually managed a kill with a Devestator, in BSM, after some bozo managed to overshot me.

Back to the Helldiver..... OK so it has cannons but is so heavy, underpowered and clumsey that it isn't able to "mix it" with attacking fighters like the SBD Dauntless. Another factor is that the tail gunner can't see much behind the aircraft to shoot at either.

I've also been "bounced" and shot down by faster and more maneuverable "Judy" divebombers in BSP on too many occasions.

The Helldiver is a poor divebomber, when compared to others I've flown, as the poor pull up forces a higher bomb drop than normally expected, unless hitting the sea / ground is desired.

So the SB2-C Helldiver is the worst WW2 aircraft I've flown, so far, in a game.

Anyone else have any nominations??

Any of the battleship launched seaplanes in Battlestations Pacific. They should have a bullseye painted on them. The mission where you have to fly one and find the German U-Boat is painfull. Putting them in the game is like bringing a knife to a gunfight...a swiss army knife at that

I'm betting that is a real SAK but it's completely useless because it doesn't fit in the hand.

the worst plane I ever flew was, if I remember right, an Albatros in a world war 1 sim. It was a beast to even get into the air, couldn't get any significant altitude, and the only armament it carried was a couple of grenade bombs for the pilot to throw. I had to find and attack some ships, but I never found them, I couldn't fly the damn thing above about 200m.

Even worse was a sim model of the Bleriot plane, the one that made the first Channel crossing. It was easy to take off, but it was so slow I reallized it would take hours to get to France and I couldn't stand the boredom.

ok you said ww2 planes... I didn't really hate any of them, except the Italian, what were they, sm79 bombers? They are terrible. I used to hate Bristol Beaufighter until I used it to attack ships with rockets. Very steady plane.

Some of the tools on that SAK look like they'd belong to a dentist. Probably could use some of them to pull teeth.
