Default Apologies for the invites.......

Had a lot of invites by old and new to join sessions last night and would like to say sorry to all for not responding. I was in a large party flying an 'Air Show'. (No battles, just formation Flying B17's and P51's but it lasted quite a long time..........several hours! Don't ask......and before anyone else (barstewards!) mentions it.... yes - I converted my P51 to scrap metal on 'several' occasions (erm....change that to 'two' as it sounds better!) but at least there won't be a bill for re-surfacing the runway.

Was it really hours?? hmm. It was fun though you got to admit it getting to fly in formation so close to those b17's. With the HUD off and in cockpit view it was very atmospheric. At one point on the ground I parked my 'stang right underneighth the wingtip of draux's b17, when I used the D-pad to look at the side of my plane, instead I got a view of inside the B-17. I could see the bombs and all the planes ocupants in close up.

Awesome footage, looks like fun. I'd love to take part in the next one if I'm available at the time: ontheborderland

Great Draux enjoyed that, the idea to create signal beacons along the runway was great too (me lying? - never!) May be one night we could use a Strike match to emulate P51's escorting B17's to their target and the other team flying BF's and FW's (at altitude though).

It's a pain. I fly with an Ace Edge and have to brake by using my guns, but in the B-17 I'm at the mercy of my momentum. Manston has the only strip long enough to land a bomber with no brakes on. Once stopped, the B-17 taxis better than most other planes because you can get it to pivot. Ill be over joyed when the patch hits and I finally get to experience landing with brakes.

The guy in the clip below was also flying with a stick (in the P51). But he was trying to switch from his stick to a regular controller so he could land with brakes. If you listen to what he saying right before he spins out, he knocked over his video camera when trying to make the switch. I've been spontaneously laughing about that one all day and feel I must share.

You don't need brakes for the P51 using a stick StarFOZ..........that vid is great Draux...I crashed just before that happened so missed it.
