Default Target view

How many people use target view? I play realistic w/3rd person view and find that the target view (L2 button on PS3) is more difficult than using the normal view to line up an enemy.

I use it for quickly checking my targets position, but very rarely keep it held when firing at them. I use cockpit view though.

I use the zoom feature quite a lot though, I'm not sure if it is just me, but it seems like the sensitivity gets reduced while zooming and so it feels easier to line up a target and negates the problems of the joystick deadzone a little. I'm fairly sure this is the case, because if im struggling to turn quick enough to keep my crosshair leading the target, I release the zoom button and i seem to be able to quickly get the crosshair back on target. If that is the case it would seem like a bug to me, but it could be intended. Or I could be imagining it

Hardly use it, especially with the Avi8r, since it's impossible to reach the button. Used it every now and then to see how someone on my six was manouvring, to try to escape him, but that's hit.

I guess it depends on the view you are using. I use cockpit exclusively and would be lost without target view admittedly I switch to zoom once he's in my windscreen. Thinking about it though I can see how the target camera from 3rd person would be extremely disorienting...

Actually I think 3d person is the best view to use the target camera.. It's the same I did in IL2: PF, but then I used the mouse. The minimum HUD or whatever you wanna call it is the most disorienting for me, as you have no reference whatsoever if you look away from your 'attitude indicator'.

I only use it to get a sense of where my target is. When I'm ready to shoot them down I don't touch it, it only throws my aim off more.

This the view when in cockpit mode that makes your guy "keep his eye" on your target independent of the plane? Its far and away my favorite view, especially with the av8r button relocation / toggle mod. It has helped me in dog fights more then I can say, makes it so much more realistic too!

I think using it in VC i almot impossible if they are not directly infront of you. I hate virtual cockpit. I love me some real cockpit.
