no sound

For some reason, I suddenly have no sound in-game. Even the intros are silent. I've tried turning my volume all the way up, no good. The "Sound System" is locked to "Direct Sound - MSS Input", and that's not what I have for audio. I had originally been using 2.05.14, but I tried a clean install, doesn't help.

Intel i7
8GB RAM
Radeon 7690XT
IDT HD Audio
