Question replay function problem

The subject has been discussed here on the forum somewhere already, dont know exactly where?
Anyway the outcome of the thread was "0".
That`s why I have to open the issue again.

I have problems with the replay of tracks in IL2-CloD.
I fly a mission, record it and want to replay and watch it afterwards.
When I open the track for replay, it only shows me the flight in cockpitview, the way I was flying it on full real. No external views, no change of camera possible!

I have tried everything. I have put the icon before replay on "edit manually" (or what it says there), I have checked if my keycommands for external views (F2,F3, etc.,...) are set properly, I have tried to replay it with realism changed to "external views-on", "cockpit always visible-out".

Nothing helped! I still can watch the replays only with cockpit view and no external view. Oh - and by the way - sometimes the replay does not even show exactly what I did in flight, it changes the action sometimes, the same as it was with long recordings in the old IL2 !!!

Does anyone here know what could be the problem or have a solution for it?
As it looks, other people dont have that problem, otherwise I wouldn`t be able to watch so many clips from "Cliffs of Dover" on youtube?

I posted regards this problem and got the help I needed.

I am not sure wether this is the same for everyone or not but I cannot change views on tracks recorded with different or previous Beta versions. I am stuck in cockpit view in all my tracks recorded with older game versions.

When opening a track you need to enable 'Edit Views' (opening track menu) before playing it. On my PC, starting the track results in weird terrain texture view and I have to press F1 and then select whatever view I want

If you are recording with the option "no external views" switched on you cant switch external views in the replay.

You should have enabled external views while does the recording and then switch on 'Edit Views' before start the replay, and press F1 once you are in.

....thanks for your answer. I also get those weird terrain textures and I also have to press F1 to get the cockpit but from there I cant get to external views. "Edit Views" is what I also enable before playing the track but it gets me only into the cockpit when starting the track, cant change that view.
No external views, nothing!

... that means, if you want to watch replay with external views, you must already fly the mission with realism settings on: "external views - enabled" ?

That also means, on a full real online server I can never record anything and watch it later with external views on. Too bad, that was better in the old IL2! Hope they consider fixing this also in a patch?

Thanks for your answer

Exactly.

I guess is a bug in the gui due the incomplete stage.

"incomplete" that`s what they should have written on the box before selling it.

I dont think it is a bug, I think it is to stop online cheating. In IL2 people would log on, record a quick track then scroll through enemy a/c to get the locations.

Its a good thing imo.

I was thinking the same thing but you cant switch externals in single player missions either.

Hi Buchon, like your screenshots btw, in single player we can pick open cockpit and not use it, so I think that although it may be annoying it is the best option they have taken if it prevents cheating online. Hopefully the devs will come up with an alternative, I think someone mentioned a time delay ect in another post (will do a quick search and see if i can find it). I do agree with you as I mainly play online and would like to see a replay of the missons Ive flown as well, but what we have (if it is to prevent cheating) is understandable.
