i just want more slots for army carrying, but i've read that the existing mod for adding more slots doesn't actually work.

i'm currently toying with modding values and such - thought i could make an activable item that opens an empty castle on usage, but it looks like i'll need to learn game's scripting and i just only found the scripting reference. thought i'd ask first before trying to figure out something that might not even be possible. i'd rip the gremlin castle code out of The Legend if it was actually readable instead and place an actual castle in a tiny new zone. oh, and then there's that mod making thing where a mod is done in a specific way to be compatible with others done the same way? that's too much for me.
