Default Clues

Hi,
I found the files somewhere on the forum of the steam version of the game.

It contained the french voices for the game (ogg files), the .loc for the menu,interface etc as well as the .loc file for each Level.

Basically the files I have overwrite the LocData\English directory adding 2 more directories in it named Voice and Levels.

here is an example of .loc files:

these text.loc files are the problem here. In game, the display of their content do not work. Instead, the plain content of corresponding .fnt file (ie: simple renamed bitmap image) is shown (the full content of the file is displayed for each character in the game dialogs/objectives).
These .fnt files are in the LocData\English\Data\Texture\FONTS directory along with their .tuv friends.
A .tuv file is a table containing the coordinates of each element (letter if you like) inside the pairing .fnt file


Ok so I have 2 problems here.
1) is the text.loc files are somehow ciphered/XORed or whatevered hexstrings and they are containing the translated texts.

2) .fnt files I have only contains ascii characters + cyrillic (russian). So you can think that if I modify these files I can add them the missing characters (like ç,é,è,à...) BUT even if I do that How to "map" this in .tuv files and that the game "understand" this ?


I didnt extracted the .dat file until you mentionned it in your message ^^
So I did it and discovered many interesting things I have to investigate but still I do not know how to properly "map" my characters.
