How to spot a Jasper
#1 rule: whatever you buy, get an extended warranty at the store. If that store doesn't offer it, go somewhere else.

Pay attention to that. To spot the info through the box, you'll probably have to rip the hole just a little bit open with your thumb.
My most recent was an Elite. Went to every store in town and NONE of the Elites had a Jasper, the were all Falcon. This was the Elite package with the free games. I figure that's why they offered that deal---to get rid of old Elites. The one I ended up with was almost a year old since manufacturing.
All Arcades had a Jasper. Some Pros had a Jasper.

That "Elite" lasted me 46 days and RROD'd. I've only had one RROD before, I'm not one that continually gets that.
Took it back. Best Buy had no more Elites and weren't about to get any in. They let me swap for an Arcade and keep the HD, so I have no complaints. Jasper chip of course.

EXPECT this thing to last a year and have an issue. It may not be RROD, it could be something else, so the longer warranty may not apply.

1-**Get an extended warranty**
2-Get a Jasperr

If on an HDTV, with an Arcade, you'll have to buy an HDMI cord or at least component cables (it only comes with composite). If you can find a Pro with Jasper that might be the way to go.
