As a physiologist I think about it like this...(and I used to fly qantas alot)

If your airliner goes down you'll be travelling with so much momentum that the "sudden stop" at the bottom will be at VERY LEAST a 60G hit on your body.. at 60Gs+ necks break, and sometimes heads come off completely with such speed that the inertial (and probably centripetal cos your head will be spinning with alot of top spin) forces would massively disrupt any little activity that might remain in your brain, which probably wouldn't be oxygenated too well by now anyway...

i.e. you'll shit yourself on the way down but you won't feel a thing when you get there.

The last thing on your mind will be the rest of your major organs.
