The better odds say that they will make the planes available to everybody at launch in North America. We are getting the game a few days early as it stands, 8-2 according to Gamestop. I can't see them leaving such an iconic plane as the P-47D out of the game in North America, as it was one of the major reasons why we won the war in the air and on the ground. You can't have an American campaign with ground-attack missions and not have at least one version of the P-47, be it the P-47B with the razorback cockpit, P-47-C with the improved razorback, or the P-47D, which is the most widely known and widely used model of "the Jug." The P-51D is a great plane, but you talk to any pilot from the era and he will tell you that it was not a great ground-attack aircraft. Statistical fact: if you research all of the great P-51D aces of the war, 85% were shot down by ground fire during a low-level mission. One single round into the coolant tank, located on the underside of the P-51D, and it's game over. The Merlin engine was the best high-altitude piston engine of the war but it just didn't make the cut for low-level work.
