He was also known as "The Black Devil" by the Soviets. He has 352 confirmed aerial kills and 345 of them were Soviet planes. He is the highest scoring fighter ace in history and was never shot down. The only times he had to crash land (14 times) was when parts of the enemy plane he had just shot down hit him or when he had mechanical problems.
