unable to play game too. i downloaded the demo and get the same as this poster. game loads into a black screen and then the not responding window apeasr to close it.

found a fix to this issue. goto
http://www.microsoft.com/directx and download the latest directx. seems this updates some files needed this game requires. even if you have vista, this may clear up the not loading issue.
