It appears that the only Allied nation to use observation balloons in combat during WW2 was the USSR. For the Axis, Italy might have used them. For the Allies, the US might have used them, but only along the US coast in an anti-submarine role.

This is an error. There should be winter versions with whitewash overlaid camo and desert versions with either solid "sandgelb" or sandgelb and green (RAL 1002 Sandgelb = sand yellow & RAL 8000 Grünbraun = green brown)

This is an error. US-produced Lend-Lease equipment should come with dyed canvas covers, in the appropriate shade of olive drab.

BUT, early war US canvas used khaki rather than olive drab, which often faded in the sun to a lighter color. Any of the these colors would be appropriate, possibly lighter due to fading:

This might not be an error, since that is the color of undyed canvas. Soviet factories regularly experienced material shortages and emphasized quantity over quality, so it's entirely possible that some Soviet vehicles had undyed canvas covers.

This assumes that Soviet, US, British, etc. pontoons and ramps followed the same pattern as the German pattern. If there were significant differences, it might be better to crew new objects.

In particular, there should be a Bailey Bridge object for the allies:

Liberty and Victory ships should just use American camouflage and flags. "Generic" merchant ships would benefit from a variety of different paint schemes and flags, so that every nation in the game has at least one merchant ship.

The only problem is that there usually was no standardization of paint schemes for civilian ships, nor were there consistent camouflage schemes for military ships. Each shipping company had its own livery - typically different colored funnels or bands around the funnels. Camouflage for military ships varied by year and country.

Ideally, it would be possible for players to produce their own skins for ships and ground objects to allow for the vast diversity of paint schemes.

Maybe. Aid stations and hospital units were relatively rare. Mobile hospital units tended to be well behind the lines (beyond enemy artillery range). In any case, they were usually separated from other military units and were seldom deliberately targeted, since they were protected by the pre-WW2 Geneva Accords.

They'd be "nice to have" as scenery, but they don't represent legitimate military targets.
