I tried using the regular hardware setup options from the ingame menu but they had no noticable effect (and are all maxed too now).

As in all other respects everything works as it always has. Joystick, mouse, keybinds all work normal. No monitor res changes or issues with basic connectivity to online servers.

Yet conversely i can play games such as world of warcraft or total annihilation without audio issue, and i spend countless hours on youtube or listening to music, again with no worries.

If someone could post a copy of the original config file regarding to the sound that would give me something to use as a base for finding if it is indeed an IL2 issue or something else (i hope its an easy fix lol)
I just had this same issue.. I was lloing at one of my backups trying to figure out what happened.. What really freaked me out about it was that when I would move through the folders ... like E:>Backup>46 Backup>HSFX... I would hear the clicks as I went through the folders.. without even having 46 running.. but in the sim I got nothing..

Changing that line soled my issue though.. ~S~
