Default BIOS settings that affect game performance?

Hi guys,

A couple of months back I had to reset the BIOS on my computer, and since then my frame rates have gone down by 50% and are constantly dipping below the 25fps threshold where you really start to notice it.

I don't have a great machine (Pentium 4 3GHZ CPU, 3GB RAM, Radeon HD 4600 graphics card with 1GB memory), but before the BIOS change I would get comfortable 25-40FPS on most maps with near-perfect in-game graphics settings. Now, even when I turn every quality setting to low, I can barely get 25 FPS when looking at the sky with no other planes or objects around, and single-digit FPS when looking at forests, cities, etc.

I eliminated all other possibilities (viruses, other programs running, etc) and am pretty sure it's caused by that BIOS change weeks ago. I disabled on-board sound which can be an FPS drag, that didn't help. I never used overclocking so it's not that. Any ideas?

Thanks,
