I don't mind downloading games, but I hate intrusive DRM schemes. Steam usually fits a nice middle ground for me, but when for example Bioshock came out on steam loaded with DRM I instead waited and got a physical copy that I could then remove the DRM from.
One thing that is a real issue with a game like IL-2 or SOW is the cockpit quick reference. A hard-copy of that would be worth paying a little extra for!
