Default MS ForceFeedback 2 odd effects

My trusty old MS Sidewinder FF2 stick seems to have an annoying tic.

It sometimes happens when I'm going too fast, or to slow, or have forgotten to raise the flaps, or am badly out of trim, or damaged, but often for no apparent reason.

The FF starts forcefully jerking the stick forward and back. It's a bit like the wheel touchdown kick but it doesn't usually go away.

By triming carefully I can usually minimize the effect enough to baby it home. Reflying usually cures the problem for awhile.

It seems more likely to happen online.

It would be interesting to know more about the various effects in the ForceFeedback folder actually do, and what conditions trigger them?
