United Squadrons League Final Rules are up with the exception of the Final Closed Pit Icons (on/off), and Dot ranges, which are being hammered out this week by the Squadron Liaisons.
The USL will meet its scheduled opening date of January 12th, 2009.
Ah, but Squadron registration is closed, too bad. We specifically wanted an organization that would be run by the community of squads, and it seems we have it.
18 Squads in two divisions for Open Pit.
18 Squads in two divisions for Closed Pit.
A Nine match schedule for each team that takes us through 18 weeks.
And a playoff structure in place after that, that gives us a Champion for each Closed and Open Pit.
From Khalkhin Gol through Stalingrad and the Bulge to Burma, we have a seasons worth of original historical maps ready to play.
Slick it may be, some may call that professionally packaged. Whatever it is, it is the product of months of planning and haggling and debating and organizing. And it will Rock!
Kudos to Lazarus, who took an orphaned league (not for lack of participation), gave it home, and with a dedicated group of IL2 pilots (which I am lucky enough to be a part of), has created, a solid, functioning operation, that is 50% larger than it was last year.
The Tempest Union competed last year, and the action, the teamwork, the intensity of the missions and the dogfights, surpassed anything I had experienced in any game in any server.
Sorry you guys sat it out this year, sign up early next year, the slots will be limited.
