I installed the gamersgate 1.65 (build 34502) last night and have not noticed any problems. Don't know what it fixed...
@neofit: Your Atari version is missing some newer "internal" features I know b/c some of the features of the interface mod do not work with your version b/c it is missing some needed functions that were added in later versions.
