Something a bit different, an actual gladiator skin on the gladiator.

Once again work in progress, this time the first of an eventual set of 3 or 4 skins from 3(F) Squadron RAF circa 1937/1938. No.3(F) Sqn were actually issued Hurricanes during early 1938 only to find Kenley airfield was too small to handle them safely and reverting to Gladiators.

This initial screenshot shows Gladiator Mk I K7960 No.3(F) Sqn. RAF operating from Kenley, Surrey in June 1938. This aircraft was distinguished by a grey letter "P" on the fuselage, had non standard fin markings and lacks the squadron ID on the fuselage or upper wing.

K7960 was flown by Sqn. Ldr. H. L. P. Lester who was in charge of No. 3 Sdn from March 1937 until August 1938. K7960 was received from 73 Sqn. on 7/07/38 and transferred to 615 Sqn on 03/07/39 . This dates the paint scheme fairly precisely to the period between 7th July and August 1938.
