Yep. I think that there's a very good reason why DT hasn't yet released airborne radar and planes like the Lancaster.
Turning IL2 into a game which can realistically handle strategic high-altitude night bombing operations on the Western Front from its origins as a simulator for tactical low level daylight attack missions on the Eastern Front is quite a stretch!
But, in 4.12 we get the Wellington and the Ki-45, which will allow realistic "wild sau" nightfighter operations for both the ETO and PTO.*
*Except of course, for the absence of ground-controlled intercept - but that can be faked.
