No, it is not the chat box... is the pings box, the one you have just before starts a coop mission, when you have already press fly but non everyone else has.
Oppening the chat and closing it again (with mouse or esc) do not fix the problem.
I has never seen it on the host. It happened to me three only times in two years (i fly at least one coop per week), and always with loads of players, around 32. I know it has happend to other players as well. Next time i will do a screen capture so you can see how anoing this is.
