It has always meant "read the flipping manual" in my book. The 'f' can be interpreted according to how coarse the individual's speech is.
It's a tricky thing. As we mostly know, the manual is hard to find if someone's always been used to printed types, so I usually tell inquirers to look for the .pdf file on the disc, and then to read the thing! If they are still going 'duh?' then I'll try to help them a bit.
It doesn't hurt to direct people to the articles at sites like mission4today.com, where there's a wealth of knowledge about IL2 set-up and how to fly. If you can be bothered, that is. But firing off potentially incomprehensible acronyms is just lazy and un-helpful and best left unsaid.
