You simply can't make a plane into CLoD without proper technical drawings, and manuals (I mean, if you want the high detailed, accurate plane, like the others). You have no info about the engine restrictions, performances, correct FM, etc.
I'm afraid, the making of the detailed, accurate and fully functionally plane much more complex than in il-2.
Not to mention, if you have to make scenario, maps and opponents for the new plane, your tasks multiplied very fast...

In Germany someone ist working on a He 51 replica - project, so there are technical drawings, manuals etc.
