Perhaps positive change will bring them back, but if they can live without the game they may see no need to go through further trouble to squeeze the most out of it. I think that's the bottom line: if they are happy not playing it, they may see no reason to go back; especially if the only real change manifests as the next sequel. BoB lovers still aren't happy.
As an offliner it will take a miracle to make me want to upgrade to play this game as much as I am playing BoB2 right now.
It sounds depressing, but it's the truth. I personally don't really care any more either. I just come here to see if there is anything new as I want this game to succeed.
Just release the blasted SDK and let the community sort this game out.

If the game engine is fixed the WW2 aircombat community will come back as there is no other alternative atleast at the moment, and I don't see anything in the future that can even compete with IL-2 1946. I had hopes for WarThunder, but their BOB map still only incompasses Manston and Folkstone making it useless for anything more than airstart furbals. The DCS WW2 sim is along long way off.
