Default How about a community truce?

I just read up on a certain infamous recently locked thread and while it started out constructively and interesting it still managed to go down the usual feces slinging contest. Now, I can see where "both sides" are coming from but are any of these "dialogs" really making our community seem like a friendly and constructive place? It's not a very inviting atmosphere for people that may actually be on the verge of getting an interest in the genre, is it? When you are arguing about stuff like "exactly how many days are a few days" or "I didn't say that, you did!" then you know people are FRUSTRATED. Not only the people that are criticizing or complaining about the game but also the people that feel the need to start pointless arguments with them.

Arguing about FM's, DM's or other sim related stuff is common on boards like this, usually in a civil manner. Arguing over who said what or who is entitled to which opinion is just wrong, I urge everybody to rise above yourselves and channel your frustrations in other real-world activities or in trying to help any newcomers to the game instead of destroying thread after thread after thread. People are calling each other immature or question their reading abilities, really? Maybe someone is unemployed or retired, maybe someone is on sick-leave or something when they find the time to spend all their time on a message board. If that's your case, make your posts count, don't waste your time on petty arguments that never leads to anything except resentment from others, after all, we are all here for the same reason aren't we? the passion for combat sims and sims in general.
