@warhound, yeah, i got a 22in samsung right next to it u cant see, the 19 inch is there just as a second monitor for the time being. im intending on adding another 2 of the 22 inchers
as for the cpu, i didnt really have the option of going one of the 2600k or 3900k's since the board is LGA1366, but at the same time i wasnt going to settle for anything other than an extreme.. The good thing was, i managed to get the 990x brand new for just a little more than the price of the 3900k, certainly paid off to hunt around
I did go for 24gb of ram because i do some vid editing, especially with games, and also photo editing
plus, the extra ram will ensure in the future the system is set up to handle anything that gets thrown at it
@flanker - ill do a couple of tests with vsync on and chuck up the results
i totally agree with the grass thing. i usually do have it off for the same reasons
