I have read all about Hyper threading since discovering about it and now I know it's better to have it switched off. Well in my case it must be because it's vastly improved my FPS and my cores are all at low temps because I monitor them with with core Temp. Not one core is above 46c. So where again is this overclock done badly?

Edit: I have noticed that turning TM support back on I still get FPS so this is all to do with the Hyperthreading been disabled.
That "proper tech" doesn't know what he is talkin about.

First you have 3 channel memory controler, and you have 4 GB of RAM.
Is it 2x2 GB or 4x1 GB ? In any case you are losing something, more in the first case , and for second case I'm not shure, haven't played with i7.
But in any case proper setup for this platform is 3x(what you can afford) GB of RAM.

Second. It is true when you overclock i7 930 you have to raise your base clock, and that will raise RAM frequency also, but you have thing called memory divider ( if it is at least midrange board) in your BIOS settings.

Overclock is not bad by the way.

I'm glad that you solved the problem.
