Restarting every sortie all but alleviates the CTD's for most of us. I haven't had one in a long time. By using the direct connect link, restarting the game takes less than 30 seconds from exiting the game to reconnected and spawned in a plane. I don't think most of us get annoyed by having to wait 30 seconds and a couple mouse clicks after an hour sortie. At least I hope not.
