You should be able to pick up a GTX570 fairly cheap now. The one in my sig is 1.3gb and runs the game fine with all settings on high, 8xAA, no ssao, @ 1920x1080.
This is online and over London.
Offline and not over London I can run the game pretty much 'maxed out'.
With your lower screen res, I'd guess that a card like this would run fine with 'very high' settings in general, then when 'the patch' arrives, happy days.
